A Zero Month crossover issue. After the ramifications of Zero Hour, Batman gets back to doing what he does best: hunt criminals. A summons from Commissioner Gordon has Batman, with Tim Drake’s help, hunt down a mugger who has killed three people so far. While traversing Gotham City as both the Batman and as Matches Malone, Batman flashed back on his history. He relives his early live at the Manor, his meeting of Alfred, his discovery of the Batcave, the death of his parents, his meeting Leslie Thompkins, his education abroad, the creation of Batman, his rogues gallery, the history of the Robins, and the Knightfall. In the end, Batman finds the mugger and saves the life of a father and son.
